Galentines Day- A Day for Love to all the Gals.

Yup you saw it right, I have not made a spelling mistake, its February 13th which means it’s Galentines Day.

Really its just a fake holiday to put into your Calendar- (just like Valentines) and its for the Girls- (Galentines, get it? get it? Hehe) and I say why not? Why should we not celebrate our friends and friendship….. I know … I know what you saying- we should be celebrating it anyway….. but really do we? … do we? …..

I mean the gals (uh hum girls) do know I love them, but its nice to have that day where we can make the extra effort- and if we’re given a Day for it, then their is no holding off! Celebrate it we must!

What is Galentines Day, and where did it come from?

Galentines day has been around since 2010! Yes!!! where have we been?!

Created by a fictional character: Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation. The second season of Parks and Rec included an episode called “Galentine’s Day,”. On this day Leslie gets her closest gal pals together for a brunch.

And so we now have “Galentine’s Day” Thanks to Leslie! And it so widely celebrated that I remember last year Jo Malone and Tiffanys promoted it using there brand ambassadors! It was so awesome! What could be more real than that!

What to do on Galentines Day?

Uh….. Celebrate! Leslie Knope arranged a waffle brunch, and that really is right up my street! and if we weren’t in this crazy throw of Lock down, what with it being a Saturday, it would have been perfect.

If Brunch doesn’t suit you, go for breakfast, dinner, dine in, dine out, give gifts…. do whatever you want to, just get together. I mean relationships are rocky and we celebrate them on V-day, why not celebrate the women who have been in your life through the thick and thin and still standing?

But with Lock down- we haven’t seen our gals since last March and it still ain’t looking good. But whose to say you cant send love from Afar? Send flowers, send a Afternoon Tea hamper… (ooooh yes please), send Brunch! ….

Just send some Love.
