Whaaaaaaaat…. How is it Mother’s Day already? Where did January go? Who ate February?? I’m at a loss….

But here it is, so let’s get creative.

Chocolate covered strawberry bouquet with fresh roses

You don’t need to say it, I know, I know it’s so damn preety! Yes!! I know your mumma will love it…. my mumma will love it too.!! …. Forget mummas…I’ll get my boys to make a strawberry bouquet for me! Yes! I love it too! Send this blog to the kiddos- get them to make it for you!

I mean its so easy to buy a gift, a bouquet of flowers is perfect for mothers day, but their’s something very special about making it yourself, the personal touch and if you can add a little bit of edible… chocolate strawberry….. You’ll have a very Happy Mamma Bear….

And I’m here to show you how to ABC it….

What You Need:

  • Strawberries – room temperature
  • Skewers
  • Milk chocolate and White Chocolate
  • Fresh Roses
  • Gypsophila
  • Hessian Fabric or Brown Paper or Newspaper
  • Ribbon

And here’s how it’s done….

Wash the strawberries and pat dry- (you have to make sure that the strawberries are fully dry as chocolate and water do not get along at all!)

Pierce each strawberry with a skewer, this will be easier to dip in the chocolate.

The chocolate needs to be melted, you will need more milk chocolate than white chocolate (unless you want it the other way round). I use a microwave to melt the chocolate, this is done in bursts, my method for melting chocolate can be found here.

Dip each strawberry into the chocolate- I like to leave a little of the top of the strawberry showing as it looks prettier.

and then drizzle with white chocolate!

Make sure the chocolate is fully dry….. and now to assemble

For this you can use Hessian fabric, or brown paper or Evan a newspaper, make sure that this is slightly longer than the roses, (I have also put a plastic sheet on top of the fabric. This is optional)

Place the roses on the fabric first and arrange as necessary, I like to keep them in rows like this:

Then add the chocolate covered strawberries just below them, once again rearrange as necessary

I added some gypsophila to give it the extra va va voom

Grab the Stalks and the ends of the skewers and use a rubber band to put it all together…

Fold up the Hessian fabric and also fold in the sides to make it look like a bouquet…

Ribbon it up at the end….

And how beautiful is this strawberry bouquet? I’ll say it myself, so damn Beautiful!
