Chloe Gourmet opened its doors back in February 2020- just before the Lock down and has been on my to-do list since.
So when Sabina said she had a 2 hour lunch break and asked if I was free, I booked us in straight away.
Based on Cank Street in the city centre, the street known for its coffee shops and bars, we knew that if it had survived the Lock down and still going two years on, its a winner for sure.

Also did I mention its halal? Bonus!
What is Chloe Gourmet?
Chloe Gourmet claims itself as a french patisserie, and everything they serve is known to be handmade by ‘Assia Bettat’ (otherwise known as Chloe). The owner of the business and the main Pastry chef.

Lets go Inside….
The look inside the cafe has a very continental feel, the dark walls with small gold accents. It did have a few features points, but mostly very minimal which is actually a breath of fresh air from other cafes which overpower themselves with walls and ceilings full of detail

Small vases of flowers and floaty floral wallpaper with wooden table and chairs give off a almost Parisian eatery feel.
The signature french effortless casual look running through the store, where some areas have intricate details, and others left bare with the minimum.

It speaks French, it speaks modern, it speaks distressed chairs and table with lavish dark walls.

Chloe Gourmet Afternoon Tea
Although a patisserie and boasts a lot of its pastry, and mini desserts,Chloe Gourmet offer a Afternoon Tea package, and we love Afternoon Tea. So naturally that was booked in.
And here it is- the Chloe Gourmet Afternoon Tea for Two:

What a pretty picture? How Chic?
So let’s go through it, starting from the bottom with the 6 mini club sandwiches, and 6 mini croque Monsieur

Middle tier having the croissants, pain au Chocolat, scones, clotted cream and jam

And top tier and the most beautiful tier had the praline choux, raspberry tartlets, coffee choux, and chocolate choux

I mean just look at it.
For drinks we could choose any one drink from the menu. The menu consists of lattes, teas, mocktails, and soft drinks.
We both went for the Chaii Latte.

My Verdict
Definitely a different type of Afternoon Tea, and we enjoyed every moment. The club sandwiches were absolutely moreish. And the dainty delights desserts were so good! So So Good!
For afternoon Tea it has to be booked 48 hours in advance and costs £29 for two people included a hot/cold drink off the menu.
And I have heard a lot about their breakfast too, so that’s on my list now.
