Its time to celebrate, I feel like im forever celebrating. I need a reason to go out, and if its a celebration then it makes it better.

We missed Sabina’s birthday this year in December. She’s getting Old and Rusty now, ‘wants to stay Local, doesn’t want to walk, can’t go too far, can’t wake up too early, can’t get home back late.’ I’m so Glad I get to blame her for this. I’m exactly the same since I hit my forties (hides face in shame), but for this blog post we will blame her.

Katija planned a local treat in her home town, and I breathed a breath of fresh air, because Coventry is so much more closer than London town.

We ended up going for Afternoon Tea at The Old Hall Hotel in Coventry. London may be cancelled, but Afternoon Tea continues.

I didn’t really research much into it, today may have been Sabina’s treat but I also was a passenger princess for the day, and Katija was in charge, so we left the stressing up to her. She is a master at it too. No point in all of us getting stressed.

The entrance was cute.

In all honesty all of it was cute. We ventured out into the other rooms, as you do pretending we were lost. Nope! Don’t lie! I know you do it too.

It was not old at all (get the pun?) its actually a little eccentric. Geometric carpets, pops of colour and gold finishing. It was quite pleasing.

Now for the moment we are all waiting for

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon started off with selection of Teas, you guys by now know exactly what I ordered, but I just love looking through the selection. Teas consisted of Jasmine, Darjeeling, and Fruit teas, it had a good variety.

We had opted for the vegetarian option, and it came on a big cake stand of gold. Very Royal indeed!

Sandwiches consisted of Egg mayonnaise and watercress, and a smoked salmon with Creme fraiche and dill.

Cucumber and cream cheese with mint – which I devoured!!, these came in both brown and white bread.

Cakes included rocky roads, blueberry tart, almond cake, ginger cake and strawberry short cake (definitely way too many cakes) and obviously the highlight of the day, scones, jam and clotted cream.

We all know this by now right, Jam on top!

Afternoon tea at the Old Hall Hotel is £25 per person.

My Honest Verdict

We were the only ones in the Hotel, although its nice to have privacy, sometimes it can feel a little eerie. But having done a little search on Google, I’m finding its because its not up there in the popular Afternoon Tea Spots! But Dudettes it needs to be! its local (kind of (cringe face) if you don’t want to go London), its nice and its affordable.
