Yes we did it again. Every year we tell ourselves we are not going to Dubai, and yet we always end up here. This time our stay was at the Ritz Carlton Dubai -JBR.

Did you even know their was a Ritz Carlton Dubai on the JBR strip? I didn’t and when I mention it to people they all ask me the same question. I actually checked up every other day to make sure I had booked it at the right location. No domestics whilst on holiday.

Read here: Why we choose to stay at JBR

What I loved most about staying at the Ritz Carlton Dubai – JBR- well I have 10 reasons, shall we go through them?

1. A Resort tucked away on JBR

What I loved about the Ritz Carlton is although on the JBR strip itself, it’s a world away from the highrise buildings that surround the whole of Dubai. This low level building of just 5 storeys and gives off a resort type feel.

a window showing palm trees and blue waters of the sea

Surrounded by the tall buildings we were protected on our own little island, away from the manic that is the JBR strip itself outside. we were cocooned into almost what felt like our own little alcove. Yet a stones throw away from the bustling streets of JBR.

2. The Decor

The Arab inspired theme runs throughout, with the kawa (bitter Arabic coffee) served on entrance with dates. the colour palette of creams, golds, brushed wood, all ooze the rich grandeur of Islamic art.

A grand lobby with huge chandeliers, fountains and large windows invite us in. We already fell in love at this moment.

3. Spacious rooms

We had ground floor room- with a balcony which faced the pools, it was so peaceful and tranquil, surrounded by nature, we could also hear the birds singing along in their natural habitat.

The feather down beds, gave us the most peaceful sleep, and although the pool was just outside our room, we could not hear the people outside.

The lavish thick velvet curtains kept the sun outside away, allowing us to sleep in, into the early afternoons.

A luxurious desk felt just right in the room, the hubby had a permanent spot

4.The Bathroom of dreams

The bathroom was bigger than my living room at home! Yep! a cozy tub, 2 sinks, toilet, bidet and free standing shower. Luxurious samples, bath robes…. I was in heaven. I don’t think I have ever seen a bathroom like this. I tell you no lie. I shrieked a little when I went in.

5.Private beach

With deck chairs and parasols, away from the public JBR beach it was tranquil and bliss. Although at 48 degrees, we had trouble the water was warmer than the sun hitting us outside. What to do? Where to go.

6. Room service of dreams

With day service, afternoon service and night service. I mean what in the royalty is this? water bottles were topped up, beds were re made, towels were changed, bins were cleaned up (again) and treats were left in the room. Absolute Priceless.

7. Poolside

Boasting 6 beautiful pools, all at different areas, some for little ones with slides, some with fountains, and then the adult swim up bars. All at different locations so we could choose where we want to be.

And if you forgot your suntan no problem, they had a range available for you to choose.

8. Poolside service

Wipe the sunglasses? Yes please

Mist in face? Yes please

Water bottles on call

Fruits on sticks? yes please

We were absolutely pampered, to a point where I felt a little embarrassed, really you just close your eyes and they hydrate you? what was that? That is the Ritz Carlton baby

9.Games on point

I usually have problem with this, my boys now 19, and 16. A awkward age, not kids, not yet adults. They don’t want to go to the kids club, too young for the sports bar….. yes. that age. The games here were on point. With classic games that kept us going for ages.

10. Location

I don’t need to tell you this, we love JBR. We love hustle and bustle, we love strolling and exploring, and so a walk outside brought us straight to the madness that is JBR, yet once we get back into the Ritz Carlton, we forget we are on JBR, the tranquility, space and aesthetics makes us forget where we are. And we are taken away to a different world

And that’s my 10 reason, I could probably give you more, but it would go on and on and on and on. The question remains, would I come again? and the answer is In a heartbeat. The homely vibes, the customer service, the friendly staff, the privacy. I cannot fault this place.

But we have decided, enough of Dubai… we are going to explore the wider world next year….. Lets see how long that lasts.
